Professional life

In the late 1990s, Erica Cydeyko found herself feeling unfulfilled professionally and deeply drawn to a path that aligned with her values. With a heart for acts of service, she longed to create positive change in others’ lives and care for the world around her. That calling led her to the beauty and wellness industry, where she found her purpose. In 2000, she graduated with 98% from the 500-hour Electrology Program at Swanson’s Canadian Institute of Electrology. She then completed the 870-hour Spa Esthetics Program at Marvel College, graduating with top honours.

After gaining experience at a luxury spa in Calgary, Erica merged her business background from SAIT with her growing expertise to open Studio 1 Spa Services in 2001. Her reputation for excellence quickly took root. Working as a contractor for Holt Renfrew, she represented elite skincare brands like La Mer, while her award-winning facials attracted clients from across the country—and beyond. Today, over two decades later, Erica still offers personalized care from her private, serene studio in the beautiful Foothills of Alberta.

Microscopic Electrolysis
Having experienced the emotional toll of unwanted hair during her own childhood, Erica understands the impact it can have on self-confidence. Her search for a truly permanent solution led her to become a Certified Microscopic Electrologist, trained to safely and effectively treat all skin types and hair textures—including the finest vellus hairs that other methods often miss. Her approach is both precise and compassionate, always rooted in empathy and understanding.

Microbiome Facials
Erica’s skincare philosophy is deeply connected to nature and the body’s natural rhythms. She is a firm believer in the gut-brain-skin axis, and her facials are designed to protect and restore the skin’s natural microbiome. Growing up near the Kananaskis, Erica developed a lifelong love of the outdoors, often spending time grounding barefoot, foraging wild berries, or collecting crystals. She brings this earth-centered energy into every treatment, creating experiences that nurture both skin and spirit. Her goal is to support your skin’s health from the inside out—not just mask symptoms, but help you glow naturally.

Natural Cosmetic Skincare Formulation

Before becoming a mother, Erica rescued a senior beagle named Lulu. Learning how beagles were often used in cosmetic testing sparked a deep commitment to ethical living and inspired her to explore cruelty-free DIY skincare.

Later, during pregnancy, Erica was diagnosed with a rare liver disease. The experience was a wake-up call, deepening her determination to reduce toxin exposure. She wanted safer, cleaner products for herself and her unborn child. This led her to train in the EU, where skincare standards are among the world’s most rigorous. She earned her Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation and began developing professional, toxin-free products rooted in safety, purity, and love.

Now, Erica has launched PIPER LILY™ Skincare—a natural, clean, international award-winning skincare line lovingly named after her daughter and created as a legacy of compassion, healing, and conscious beauty for generations to come.

Today, nestled in her tranquil home studio near the majestic Rocky Mountains, Erica continues to offer soul-nourishing treatments that combine science, nature, and heartfelt care. Her work is more than skin-deep—it’s a lifelong passion rooted in love, healing, and a desire to help others feel truly seen and radiant.

Quality and cleanliness

Not only can you expect high quality treatments at Studio 1 Spa, but you can also expect extreme cleanliness. Adhering to AHS guidelines and personal services standards. All tools are chemically sterilized as well all stainless steel implements are sterilized in a Clinical Medical Autoclave Sterilizer. Sterile non-expired disposable filaments are used during every electrolysis treatment.

Because new trends, services and products are always emerging from the multi-billion dollar beauty industry, Erica makes it a priority to participate in educational training including annual training seminars for the past 24 years. She is the proud recipient of 16 readers choice Awards in the Best of the Foothills. She is an active member of COPE National (Canadian Organization of Professional Electrologist's). Besides have certifications in relaxation massage, nails, footcare, body treatments, reflexology, makeup, waxing, tinting, and extensive training in facials, she has completed several holistic energy certifications including Crystal Massage, Atma Kriya Yoga, Bhakti Marga OM Chanting Facilitator, Reiki Master, Trauma informed Fascia Reiki & Allison Scott’s School of Transformation - Energy Healing (South Africa).
